Welcome to New Horizon Championship 2022, the 11th Annual Charity Table Tennis Tournament! We are glad that, after a two-year pandemic break, we could hold the tournament again, as one of the events of the Markham Carnival 2022. This year, we co-organize with Markham Wesley Centre and our slogan is “萬民皆乒 All People Can Ping-Pong”, to encourage everyone join our tournament and have fun!

Back to a decade ago, it was only a small tournament with 6 teams and 60 players participating. With the help of our community partners, volunteers, and supporters, our tournament has grown in size and now becomes one of the largest charity table tennis competition events in Ontario! We are proud to announce that this year we expect to have over 50 teams and 200 participants to join and we expect to raise $10,000 to our beneficiary — Markham Wesley Centre, as well as raise funds for the Lions Camp Kirk Foundation. As usual, our tournament provides a platform for players from different cultural background and age groups and also new immigrants together with MPCC brothers/sisters to share their passion and develop friendship during table tennis sport competition. Since our first tournament, we have donated over $130,000 to the community supporting various youth, senior, healthcare, and under-privileged programs. We help our communities for better future! 

There are 8 categories in the tournament this year, accommodating both rated competition and recreational players, covering the age range from teenager to senior. In addition, with the successful launch of the Fun Game category in the previous tournament, we will continue to have this fun category this year. Even better, we will have a brand-new game and we anticipate to have louder cheers and bigger laughter in the games! 

We are thankful to all sponsors in the past years helping to promote Table Tennis in the community. Table tennis is not only a fun game but also creates a new excitement and entertainment in sport.
